I thought of a hula skirt when I looked at this long black beaded silk fringe. In this prototype, the long, narrow purse itself was worked in a rayon crocheting cord, and the fringe was applied later during the finishing, before the button clasp and handles were applied. The black and gold lucite handles, like the basic yarn, are Japanese materials purchased in Singapore whereas the gold and silver embroidered silk lining was found in Malasia. The fringe was discovered in London's Soho--this is definitely and East- meets-West construction. (Now available in solid black fringe and black and silver fringe only--gold beaded fringe is no longer available.)
Size: About eleven inches long by seven inches wide.
