This piece is a prototype that I have not repeated as it was diabolically difficult and the materials very expensive and hard to locate. It is crocheted of a yarn combining brown acrylic and gold lurex; the top is chocolate-brown chenille and is padded to retain its rounded-cap shape. The basic frame is semi-rigid plastic mesh, and it is lined in gold-lame jersey. The closing bead is a handmade lamp-wick bead with a 22K gold stripe. The foot beads are lucite (for unbreakability), and the beads decorating the padded top are antique glass. The carrying cord is brown silk rattail woven with gold beads and Spanish pasetas.
Size: Five inches across at base, nine inches high.
